SSMS integration getting worser

Somehow the SSMS integration getting worser and worser every few versions.

One or two years ago I could clicking onto a plan in SSMS, open it in the plan explorer, modifiying my query in SSMS, getting a new plan and - when I opend this second version in the Plan Explorer - it would be correctly added as new version to the original plan (making it easier to compare them).

Then suddendly this did not work longer and the plugin opened always a new tmp-file in the Plan Explorer, floating it with several versions of the plan in multiple child windows.

And now - since the upgrade to 11.3 a few days ago - it always opens a new Plan Explorer instance, flooding my task bar and memory...

Is there any chance to get the original behavior back (and no, I don't always want to use the Plan Explorer as Editor and write / optimize my statments there)?

PS: I'm using SSMS 2017

Thanks for your feedback! I'll be sure to send your comments to the Product Manager for review. In the meantime, can you confirm when the behavior change started (with the new version of SSMS or in Plan Explorer v11.3)?

Starting with the v11.3 it starts a new Profiler process every time.

The first worsening happend about 1 or 2 years ago, around the time, when the Plan Explorer became free for all (and some weeks after I buyed it :-))
